I had purchased one when I lived in Germany 52 years ago. Used often when I came back to the US. Had to purchase a new one this year because the coating on the original press started to come off. Quality product & so glad they still make them

The Ritter was the third slicer I tried after using a Zassenhaus, and a commercial electric slicer. The first two were definitely n ot what I was looking for. Although the Zassenhaus seemed like a good fit, there were technical issues that need to be resolved before it could even compare to the Ritter. For example, when slicing, the Ritter has a bar on the backside that holds the bread near the actual body, so the handle does not catch it and rip it as it comes out of the back. The other one does not and ends up ruining countless slices of bread. I also found the Ritter to operate much smoother. I would recomment this manual slicer to anyone looking to evenly slice homemade bread, etc.

I own a set of Peugeot u select stainless steel mills 12 inch. The grind mechanism is stainless steel, and you can’t use sea, or ocean/ wet salt in them. I love these ceramic grind in zassenhaus mills. This vender has a great selection. And ships quick. In the states you got to purchase from ebay or Amazon. Ordered 4 sets in October from Amazon for Christmas gift. Only received one set.then I found this site, great selection, even with the 20 dollars to ship steel cheaper than Amazon. And I usely get in 5 days. Great web site, and selection. Thanks

I love this slicer! It is well made. Thanks to the carriage and pusher I'm not afraid that I'll lose my fingers. The bread guide to keep the slices away from the crank is a great addition. A quick wipe of the counter top and suction cups with a damp cloth and the machine will stick to the counter like superglue. Slices through crusty sourdough like a hot knife through butter. Just fantastic!
