The unit is attractive and functional. I expect greater longevity from the stainless steel over the wood version. Temperatures read a few degrees C less than Sauna thermostat, but are quite consistent. The hygrometer reads accurately but does not respond quickly to changes in humidity. The calibration was spot on from the factory.

This may be an issue with the way we grow our plums (water-limited, and no thinning) to develop rich intense flavours for bottling, but this means that the pitter has trouble getting through the skin and flesh. Looking forward to trying it on our Santa Rosas (thinner skins) and cherries next season!

We appreciate your insight regarding the use with Satsuma plums. Our Westmark 'Steinex-Combi' stoner is designed to work well with regular plums with normal skin thickness and generally functions reliably. It is important that the fruits are not too large to fit properly into the device.
