Kornkraft Molino de Grano MIA MOLA

El molino manual Mia Mola de grano es el último desarrollo de los especialistas de Kornkraft. El objetivo principal de este molino manual recién diseñado era lograr una producción excepcionalmente alta de harina fina. Y este objetivo se cumplió: el Kornkraft Mia Mola puede moler fácilmente 50 g (1.76 oz) de harina integral fina por minuto, sin necesidad de electricidad. Esta alta producción es posible gracias a la construcción bien diseñada y de alta calidad del Mia Mola. Grandes piedras de molienda con un diámetro de 85 mm (3.35 in) son impulsadas por una manivela robusta y larga de acero inoxidable. Rodamientos de bolas de primera clase y una construcción particularmente sólida con una abrazadera de mesa estable facilitan y hacen sin esfuerzo la molienda manual con el Mia Mola.

El nombre Mia Mola, que significa "mi molino", refleja cuánto querrás conservar este molino manual. El molino manual Mia Mola está hecho con amor y cuidado por Kornkraft en Saarland, Alemania, con madera maciza de haya proveniente de bosques locales y sostenibles. Las superficies de madera están tratadas ecológicamente con un pulidor natural de cera de abejas Auro, lo que resulta en un acabado aterciopelado, brillante y duradero. La finura de molienda se puede ajustar fácilmente de grueso a fino con la perilla de madera ergonómica y de deslizamiento suave ubicada en la manivela. La manivela grande y la abrazadera de mesa estable con dos sujeciones hacen que moler con la Mia Mola sea fácil y sin esfuerzo.

The service from Loewen META trading GmbH is fanastic, I will give them a thumbs up as delivery is very fast for international shipment.
The item is received in good condition.
The item is nice and the workmanship and colour of the wood is as in the picture.
Sales support is quick.
The quality of the stone is not that good as there is slight chippings around the edge of the grinding stone, was informed by customer service to monitor the the condition while this is not harmful. I am fine if this is just part of the manufacturing process and the condition stays. So far its as it is.
While expected, manual grinding requires some effort and definitely slower.
As to the output after I tried to clean the item by grinding some white rice, I did notice the powder is not as fine as expected and there are some small fine black grains in the powder believe to be fine stone particles in this intial cleaning process.
Overall I will clean another time till I dont see the black particles before I do actual grinding for consumption. I give a four star because the result from the grinding is not as fine as expected, not sure if I tried 2 rounds of grinding the outcome will be better, as this is the first time I do manual grinding I find it tedious. Besides the finess of the output powder I still find the item acceptable and nice, with the great service from Loewen I dont mind conssidering buying other items I need from them in future.

Regarding your comment about the slight chipping on the grinding stone:
The grinding stones in the Mia Mola mill are made from high-quality, natural Naxos basalt with a magnesium binder. Minor edge chipping can occasionally occur during manufacturing or shipping, but these are typically purely cosmetic and have no impact on function, safety, or durability. Every mill is carefully inspected before shipping to ensure it operates correctly.

As for the small black particles you noticed during your initial cleaning run with rice — this is a normal part of the break-in process for natural stone mills and is specifically addressed by the manufacturer in the official manual:

“To clean the mill, grind a handful of dry rice. Some fine abrasion from the millstones may occur — this is normal and will disappear after a short time.”

After one or two cleaning runs, these particles should no longer appear. We recommend only using the mill for food preparation after this initial cleaning process is complete.

Please also rest assured:
If any real issue ever arises, we work closely with the manufacturer in Germany to find a fast and fair solution — and if necessary, we will of course replace the product free of charge.

My new favourite thing!

Absolutely loving my new Mia Mola Mill. It arrived with amazing speed considering it had to come to NZ. I was surprised how relatively effortless it was to grind even hard rice grains into kibble to make rice porridge and how quickly the job was done. Very happy with my decision to get a hand mill rather than electric!
