Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the MANUS 1 wasn’t the right fit for you.
The MANUS 1 is a classic hand-operated grain mill with around 80 revolutions per minute, producing approximately 30 g of fine flour per minute.
In comparison, an electric mill like the Schnitzer Vario runs at about 1,250 RPM – roughly 15 times faster in terms of rotation, but it produces only around 3–4 times more flour (approximately 110 g per minute).
This is because flour output does not increase proportionally with RPM – factors like feed rate, desired fineness, and mill design also play a major role.
If you need to grind larger quantities quickly and often, an electric mill is definitely the better choice.
However, the MANUS 1 is perfect for smaller batches, off-grid use, and for those who value a conscious, hands-on milling experience.
As of now, we have six five-star reviews, highlighting the MANUS 1’s quality, everyday usability, and versatility – whether for van life, chapati, or coarse grinding.
And of course: If the mill doesn’t suit your needs, you’re welcome to return it within 30 days.
Thank you again for your honest feedback – it helps others make informed decisions.
